GMAT is an important
test for those looking to get into an MBA program. More and more colleges
require you to take the GMAT test to get in and sometimes the GMAT is the
deciding factor between two candidates. On top of that, a good GMAT score can
open up more scholarship opportunities. So it is very important to have a good
GMAT score. You may find that you have to retake GMAT because you did not study
enough, didn't get enough sleep the night before, or for any other number of
reasons. Once you have decided to retake GMAT, there are many ways you can
improve your score.
Tips on Improving Your Score
1) Look at areas you suffered in and mistakes you made. Use that to plan your study strategy.
2) Focus your studies on your lowest scoring areas first, and then do quick reviews on your highest scoring areas.
3) Take practice tests and score them, or have a friend score them, to check your progress.
The more you study, the better you will do when you retake GMAT. According to an exit survey after the test, students who score a 700 or higher spend on average 121 hours studying. Once you are comfortable with all of the questions and you consistently have good grades on the practice tests, you are ready to retake the test.
What to do on Test Day
1) Get a good night's sleep the night before.
2) Make sure to eat good, healthy breakfast.
3) Go for a walk.
4) Do not study on test day. It will not help you and could even confuse you more.
